Victoria Jack, founder and Executive Producer of The Bay Area UFO Expo, states the existence of the conference is due primarily to her dad's influence and his interest in UFO phenomena. Roy Fortner was a commercial truck driver and loving father. He spent thousands of hours on the road. Like many truckers, he often drove alone at night in light traffic, while most of the rest of the world slept. Most of Roy’s long hauls were uneventful. Once in a while, however, he would return home to his family and excitedly describe how he saw UFO's while driving his big rig under the stars. Many of the sightings were so remarkable that Roy said he would pull to a stop, get out and stand by his semi, completely awestruck by what he was witnessing. "His excitement and wonder about visitors from other planets was contagious. The atmosphere at home was always alive with talk of strange phenomena," recalls Victoria. "It was always filled with laugher and love," she continues with a warm smile. Victoria's life turned in a new direction when Roy passed away, followed by her mother four months later. The family’s conversations and her dad’s spellbinding eyewitness accounts came to an abrupt end that fateful year, leaving a void in Victoria's life. After spending time searching for a sense of purpose, Victoria came to a decision that would forever after have a positive impact on both her life and countless others. In tribute to her father, Victoria decided she would do whatever it took to ensure that the leading experts of UFO phenomena would have a place to gather and share insights with the public. She founded The Bay Area UFO Expo in 1999 as a vibrant and exciting legacy honoring her loving father and UFO eyewitness, Roy Fortner. Robert Perala: MASTER OF CEREMONIES Robert Perala will be one of your MC's for the weekend. He is an internationally acclaimed speaker and author of THE DIVINE BLUEPRINT and THE DIVINE ARCHITECT. His research includes 25 years in UFO’s, Extraterrestrial Science, the Ancient Mystery Schools, and Earth Based Anomalies. He has been featured on many programs on the A&E Channel, The FOX Network, and COAST TO COAST AM. His efforts have been recently focused on humanitarian relief efforts around the globe as Director of Development for the United Nations Association, speaking and raising funds for UNICEF, HERO Aids Africa, and Adopt-A-Minefield. Ruben Uriarte: Master Of Ceremonies Ruben Jose Uriarte has been a member of Mufon (Mutual UFO Network) and is the State Director for Northern California. He has also served as a state coordinator for Crop Circle Phenomena Research International and served as a research director, guide, and translator for Beyond Boundaries, a company specializing in leading groups of people to various UFO 'hotspots' in different parts of the world. He is an OPUS (Organization for Paranormal and Support and Understanding) board member. He has been involved with a large network of research organizations. Ruben has been interviewed on many local and national radio shows and television documentaries on the subject of the UFO Phenomenon, such as the History Channel’s UFO Files series “Mexico’s Roswell” and UFO Hunters. He is the MUFON liaison with OMIFO, Mexico’s unifying investigation organization for UFOs. More recently, Ruben has been co-authoring a series of books with Noe Torres about major UFO incidents that have occurred in Texas, Mexico, and the Southwestern US. They published Mexico’s Roswell: The Chihuahua UFO Crash, which tells the story of an August 1974 UFO crash retrieval along the Texas- Mexico border, near Coyame, Mexico in the Chihuahua Desert. They have written a second book, titled The Other Roswell: UFO Crash on the Texas-Mexico Border. It focuses on a 1950s era UFO crash retrieval near Del Rio Texas. In the book, a retired Air Force pilot tells the amazing tale of a highly luminous UFO that he chased across the skies of Texas before watching it crash near the Rio Grande River on the Mexican side of the border. I also started operating cameras during this period of time; first as a second or third camera and after a few years as first camera, and then as a director, and by 1997 a fully seasoned production manger, which I’ve been doing ever since. I’ve work all over the United States as an audiovisual production manager first for a company called Destiny Telecomm International, Inc., then all over the world as a freelance cameraman, and audio engineer. I’ve worked in England, Egypt, Canada, and Mexico. I started a production company in 2001, “Global View Communications”. I made an independent film during that time with my then co-owner Ralph Steiner. It is a documentary called “History Denied”, UFO Secrets of the U.S. Government, a documentary film on the life and times of Sgt. Clifford Stone U.S. Army (Ret.). While working at Global View Communications, I kept working as a production manager and a freelance cameraman. I worked for Bob and Teri Brown for the “International UFO Congress” for 9 years, and then for Victoria Jack and “The Bay Area UFO Expo” for the last 10 years. Also during this same time period I have worked the last 8 years for Brian Hall and his program “Conspiracy-Con” as production manager. Some of my duties are hiring, managing up to three full crews per project, with up to 18 speakers per program. My responsibilities as production manager are all room sets, lighting, cameras, audio, and video. I am also responsible for A/V for both recording and live room reinforcement, all DVD recording for all speakers, and keeping the show running on time. I have recorded over 294 speakers in the last 10 years, and out of those 294 more than 30 I shot and produced myself due to illness of a cameraman, an audio person, and or A/V Tec, or all of the above. Like they say, “The show must go on”. Also during the last twenty years I’ve worked on many freelance projects for such groups as MUFON, Independent Journalist Leslie Kean, and Dr. Steven Greer’s discloser project.
